Well, as you all know I have chosen to disable the karma feature here at the Academy, because I want all members to feel for the most part equal, without the separation of ranks and karma. However, if someone does something worthy of approval, be sure that you still recognize them for it.
For example, say someone writes an extremely good article. First, make sure you let them know that you like it and think that their article is useful and well-written, or whatever. You can also reward them in other (sometimes funny) ways in your replies. For example, I sometimes reward people with yummy food.
Feel free to do this, or come up with your own fun ways of rewarding people. Be creative!

Ah finaly a forum without the whole 'forum noobie / psionic noobie' deal. That consctantly annoys me. Especialy when your only new to that forum and not psi.

Exactly, Nervous. On psi sites with karma and rankings, people always make assumptions about people based on these things. Someone posts something controversial and has all their karma taken away; suddenly everyone else decides that they're either a newbie, an idiot, or someone to be disrespected and untrusted. Also, ranks are only based on post counts, but people always assume they actually mean something about a person's psionic experience.
