If there is no evil, no wrong, then there would be no punishment. Your statement contradicts itself. In order for there to be punishment, a deed of wrongdoing must have been committed in the first place. Otherwise its just an unfortunate happenstance. Hm, right I see your point. My point was that you should not be "punished" but you could be killed or hurt for something that you did or did not do. The sentence should have been: "Nobody deserves to be hurt/killed, but everybody is liable to be hurt/killed." (or something like that) And you can disagree, but I call it like I see it. Nature doesn't care about how good or bad a person is, neither does a deity.

Tell that diety thing to the well over 50 percent of the worlds population that believes the exact opposite.
As to what Chain said, its justification by faith, not through works. Although works are required to demonstrate said faith. (James chapter 5). And not all of it is meant to be interpreted literally. Some is figurative, some are "types" or "shadows", etc. The rules of hermeneutics allow you to figure out which is which and when to apply the literal or figurative meaning. The problem comes when people don't know hermeneutics or how to use it.
Stolide, the Bible may have been written by people but it was inspired by God. Show me a flaw, and I will show you perfection. And I have yet to find a disagreement, or anything such as. If you pm or post such things to me I can clear um up for you. And believing in Christ and that he died is the foundation of it, but there is also the continual repentance of sins. Also even more foundational is the fact He rose from the dead.

www.infidels.org/library/modern/jim_meritt/bible-contradictions.html#good_to_allA list of contradictions. Google will find you many more lists. For one that can not be interpreted metaphorically, MAT 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. MAR 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. JOH 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Christ rising from the dead was really only to show that he was the son of God. Him dying, from a magickal perspective was more important. I am currently under the impression the He went to hell because he had absorbed the sins of so many, and those who are full of sin go to hell. Whilst in hell the sin departed into it's surroundings.

MAT 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. I dont see a contradiction. Just three parts of 1 story. He went to hell due to the fact he died while those sins were still on him. All the sin left him because, well, hes God and the Father no longer had his back turned on the Son. Him rising from the dead did indeed validate all the claims he was the son of god, but moreso it also proved that all he claimed was real, and that he can even defeat death. As for all the "contradictions", most are mis-interpretation. Some are valid, but with a little bit of thinking become quite obvious that they arent contradictions. Some are just stupid. If you really want me to go through them 1 by 1, I'll do it for you in a PM, but lets get this one back onto ethics.

"dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre."
" The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. "
The first one says two people were there, the second, one.
This is an example of a non subjective contradiction.
As to Christ death, you said the same thing I did in different words.

I could say Barack Obama was at his inauguration. Then I could say Barack Obama and his wife was at the inauguration. See what I'm getting at? Just because the first one only has one person doesnt mean there werent more there than that stated. Maybe that was an extreme example, but it gets the point across. But I do see where your coming from tho. As for the Christ thing, after I posted it I re-read it and yeah sorry I did say the same thing.

I'm not saying the Bible is no good, I'm saying there are contradictions. What you pointed out is correct, it does not say she was the only person that was there. It also does not say that the easter bunny hopped out of the tomb when they showed up either. Surely he must have been there being the easter bunny and all, and it doesn't even say he wasn't there.

I always reach ridiculous conclusions, it makes it easier for everyone to see that the logic is flawed. The absurdity is clarifying and amusing at the same time.

So in the end, we agree that we both have validity? You can not believe, I shall. And we get this thread back on the topic of ethics?

Not really, your statements are false, there are obvious contradictions within the Bible...
And if you want to, sure. Since we are the only people on this site anymore, and we are both Christian, I doubt there will be much of a debate. Meh.
