How to Effectively Pummel Your Foes Into Dust, via energy working
Stolide Demens
Yes, that's right, I'm going to explain how to be effective in energetic combat, hold no bars. I'll explain how to use energy to damage ones energetic body to cause them to lack manipulation abilities and how to cause physical pain to be used in a "real" fight.
General Rules of Combat
The first and foremost rule of combat is to never appear as you actually are. If you are strong, appear weak, and vice versa. This forces your opponents to act on false information, or act with none at all. Take every advantage you can get.
The second rule that you should always consider is creativity. If you come up with a new method of attack, no one will have a defense for it. This means for the brief (or not so, depending on your creativity) time that it takes for people to adapt you are unstoppable. Obviously this means you should never use the same attack twice. Every attack should be different to constantly keep you opponent from being able to adapt to your methods of attack. The same goes for defense. If you come up with some new and grand form of defense, never before imagined by mortal minds, then you are, at least temporarily, invulnerable.
The third one that I will touch on here is psychology. You can use it to such an immense effect that it really is quite amazing. What you tell someone influences what they experience to such an extent that I have told people that I am going to overload them. Then I do nothing and they get a massive headache. This is because they expect to become overloaded. Now, one could use this to a great extent, merely by telling people things, or by using tps to make them think something, and thus cause it to happen.
Energetic Combat
For the purpose of this article I will define energetic combat as combat with the intent of damaging primarily the energetic body. This generally includes "blasts" of energy and shields. However both of this are next to useless. And I will explain why they are, and what should be used instead shortly.
Shields are most often thought of as the end all, be all, to energetic defense. This idea is ludicrous. Lets say that you make a woven layered sentient shield that gathers it's own energy and adapts to the various attacks people throw at it by changing shape and it's energy type. You spend days working on your masterpiece and thusly proclaim it to be the best shield you ever made. Then, in about 5 seconds I teleport an exploding construct inside you...
As you can see, shields have incredible faults. The only way around them is to come up with extremely complicated and tricky programming to account for every type of attack one could conceive of. This is obviously impractical A much better method of defense is to cause yourself not to exist (see Reality Manipulation narackonline.proboards55.com/index.cgi?board=ewpsihelp&action=display&thread=9). This stops nearly every conventional attack that someone would throw at you. And it requires relatively little work!
The key as you see is to think as differently as possible from everyone else. By having a defense most people don't seem to realize is possible you are exempted from nigh all attacks, save from those who also understand how to get around your defenses.
Now obviously, since I posted this defense online it will become more common. And thus is not as good of a defense as it was a few days ago. So you should come up with your own unique defense. In fact, I prefer a defense that I Don't understand fully, that way no one can hack my mind and instantly know how to get around my defenses.
Enough about defense for now. You should have the general idea by now, don't think normally. Think as unconventionally as possible and never stop adapting.
Now on the attacking end, things are quite different. Just throwing random psi blasts will have no effect on anyone worth a 20th of their weight in sand... The first thing you must do is scan your opponents defenses. Likely they will have some confusing and complicated array of constructs that somehow protect them from attacks. Until you understand how their defenses work, you will not know how to attack them effectively.
I often find it is easiest to have constructs evaluate my opponents defenses as I am often busy making mine even more intricate and convoluted in the midst of combat. So when I get the information back from my constructs I begin to formulate a plan. the idea is to think of what your opponent did not. If for example he forgot to prevent the effects of people converting all the energy in their body into void, you now have a viable means of attack and should immediately follow through with it before they think of that possibility.
One form of attack that is oft over looked is tps. I can for example create a construct who's sole purpose is to send you telepathic and empathic messages that make you think you are loosing and thus should give up. Without even damaging you I could make you concede! Or I could use the same construct to induce that almighty AOL! (Arnick really hates that one )
So when attacking, make sure you understand your opponents defense before wasting your time and energy doing nothing, and always be thinking of new ways to attack you opponent. Even the greatest defenses in the world can not stop an attack that didn't exist before.
I'd just like to add that due to the complexity of combat amongst those who have almost an inkling of what they are doing often takes months. This is because by then you have defenses for so many different things that it takes long to find a way around your opponents defenses and by then people often have multiple energetic bodies they can switch amongst to limit the damage done to them.
Physical Combat
I will call combat whose purpose is to harm the physical body physical combat; even though technically you are still using energy for the combat. This form of combat, while more difficult, can cause someone to have physical, not just mental, problems. For example, with practice you can cause other peoples pain receptors to fire at your command.
Tps can easily be combined with any form of fighting. Just send you opponent a message saying that you are going to do something differently than you actually are...
The more you understand about biology and human physiology the easy this will be for you. Just like you need to understand you opponents various energetic defenses, you must understand their physical bodies functionings as well. The easiest thing to effect in the human body is most likely the nerves.
Sticking a bunch of energy in a pressure point, even without programming, can cause a mild discomfort. Now if you can manipulate the energy in their body around their nerves you can do some nasty things. Take the nerves for example. If I can cause just a few Na+ ions sitting outside the nerve to cross the cell membrane it can set off a chain reaction that will bring about a feeling all along that nerve. A good nerve to target is the sciatic nerve as it is one nerve that travels all along one leg. This can easily slow down someone chasing you, or at best cause them to trip depending on what type of nerve you hit.
Now consider what a heart attack is. A heart attack occurs when the nerves that cause muscle contractions in the heart fire at different times... (See where I'm going?) Now, likely you will not be able to induce a full on fatal heart attack. However, it could cause chest pains and throw off your opponent, leaving you an opening to strike.
Obviously, not all of these are feasible to do in the middle of a fist fight. However, if you have a construct on hand already, you can have him do various attacks on your opponents body while you are defending yourself.
Now before I continue to give the innocent youth of the internet ways to kill each other. Think about it like this. If I wanted to beat someone up, I wouldn't carefully plot my energetic attacks, I'd punch them! Tis so much more effective than causing a muscle cramp or something. So don't go and tell me that what I'm doing is wrong. People already know so many ways to kill each other by the age of 8 it stops mattering at that point.
Combining It All Together[/size]
So now you know how to use energy working in both energetic and physical combat. Make sure that you are always thinking in new a strange ways, so as to confuse, confounded and conquer you foes. Now as your opponents will (hopefully) be doing the same, this only underlines the importance of good sensing ability and the ability to think critically.
