Hi, everyone. Now, I know that I haven't really been doing any psionics for a time. However, there is one small exercise that I have been doing, simply for the heck of it. I was pretty bored today, so I typed it all out and figured I would post it up here. It's already up on Narack, but I figured you guys would be interested too (there's also about four times as many people registered here than on Narack ).
So, here goes:
The most important thing when doing psionics is to have a clear mind. When one's thinking is free of negative emotions, distractions, or other thoughts that may perturb psionic activity then productivity improves greatly. If you work with a head full of jumbled thoughts or angry emotions, it can offset the balance that psionic work needs. Often, it becomes harder to focus and your intent may waver, causing a poorly-made energy structure or a bad link between minds.
Most of us don't want to spend a whole lot of time meditating before we rush into doing the "fun part" of psionics. Sometimes there is only so much time available for your psionics, or maybe you are already feeling pretty calm and don't feel it necessary to go through the whole process. Although for newbies it is generally recommended to at least give the full meditation process a genuine attempt (or five), eventually it doesn't take so long to become calm and there is really no need to start from the very beginning anymore. So, for those of you who feel you are at that point (and the majority of people on here will) there are some simple, faster ways to clear your mind, one of which I will discuss here.
Step 1: This can be done sitting, standing, or lying down. I prefer standing, but if you wish to sit or lie on your bed that is also okay. Have your palms face the floor, and if you are sitting or lying down make sure to have your feet touching the floor in some way. It is generally not recommended to have your limbs crossed when you are doing this exercise. If you are sitting you can have you legs stretched out in front of you to deal with this position requirement.
Step 2: Take several deep, slow breaths. Try to establish a rhythum if you feel like it. Do this for no shorter than 30 seconds, and no longer than 2 or 3 minutes. Going longer than that okay but if you want to be more speedy about this then it's perhaps not the best idea.
Step 3: Picture all the stress, fear, distractions, negative energy, and other unwanted feelings in you body as a bunch of sand. Do you feel how it weighs you down? This is what is holding you back from having a clear mind. Visualize your palms and pads of your feet to allow the sand to flow through them, falling away from you and into the ground, where it simply becomes plain energy again. Do feel lighter? Less foggy in your mind? This is a good sign. If you don't, don't worry, it takes some trial and error before you can get exactly the right technique to clear your mind.
Step 4: Now that your body is free of negativity, you can start to do a basic psionic exercise. In the same position, picture golden energy rising from the earth and into your body through your hands and feet. Visualize it filling your body with warmth, fully cleansing you of negativity. When you are finished with this, picture the energy slowly drawing to a close. If you cut yourself off from an energy source it may give you a headache later.
Step 5: At this point, you may begin to start whichever psionic practice you wish.
This excersise may also be used simply to cleanse yourself of all negativity, for example, if you are nervous or if you have a test the next day and are having trouble falling asleep. Have fun, and experiment. If this technique doesn't work for you, alter it to fit your needs.
